Market Overview: With the proliferation of online
communications including e-mail, RSS and Office documents,
the increased availability of cheap desktop storage,
and the continually increasing size of Microsoft Office
files, organization has become a huge challenge for
every Windows user. Originally considered an enterprise
problem, the management of gigabytes of unstructured
data on the PCs of hundreds of millions of Office users
is now a huge productivity problem for individual users.
While desktop search programs are emerging, continual
indexing and organization in context hasn't yet been
possible. Relationships are not maintained, so that
even when a user can find a specific message, file,
or hyperlink, they cannot necessarily tell who sent
it to them, or when, or in what context.
Viapoint was developed to address this issue - and
is the first product to let users find files, e-mails,
contacts, RSS feeds, and many other file formats in
the same interface. Viapoint creates a state of perpetual
organization in the background for Office users - bridging
the gap between Office, Explorer, and Outlook for the
first time.
Company Profile: Viapoint Corporation is an
independent software company that designs desktop search
products to help people "work organized". For users
of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office, Viapoint
Corporation offers the only desktop search software
that finds contacts, e-mails and files, web and news
content and displays them together in a familiar Windows
interface. The company's flagship product, Viapoint,
is powered by patent-pending technology that constantly
examines the relationships between contacts and files
to automatically continuously organize information so
users spend less time searching and can work more effectively.
Privately funded, Viapoint Corporation was founded
in 2002 by entrepreneurs who were pioneers in the SFA
and CRM markets. More information can be found at www.viapoint.com
Key Product: Viapoint - desktop software that
gives you control over the deluge of email, office documents,
web and news content you work with. You know where to
go to review the business and personal conversations
of today, yesterday or last year. Viapoint delivers
the information you need to keep organized so you stay
in control of your work and your life. You don't have
to search because Viapoint always puts the information
in the right place; you just find that information faster.
Technology: Viapoint was developed in C# on
Microsoft's .NET platform. Its patent-pending design
incorporates storage management technologies from Microsoft's
next-generation WinFS storage platform.
Viapoint's product roadmap includes plans to roll out
sensors for additional contact management and personal
productivity applications.
