Dave Barber - Management
Advisor
Dave is a seasoned entrepreneurial executive who
provides general management advice to ViaPoint. Currently, he is CEO of
Injured Workers Pharmacy, an online pharmacy based in Methuen, Massachusetts.
He was a founder and VP of Engineering at Entrex, a $50 million data entry
system supplier. As VP of Sales and Marketing at Applicon, a CAD software
supplier, he increased revenues from $15 million to $100 million in 4
years. He was CEO of Spectrum Interactive, the largest multi-media training
company in the US, and of Language Technology, a Software Reengineering
Tools supplier acquired by Knowledgeware. He holds BS and MS degrees in
engineering from MIT.
Rick Shapiro - Technology Advisor
Rick Shapiro is a veteran entrepreneur who started
his first venture at age 22, a plug-compatible peripherals company which
achieved high growth rates earning it the 35th place on Inc. Magazine's
Top 500 list. After selling the peripherals business, he developed the
first real time Unix-compatible operating system at Charles River Data
Systems achieving an annual sales rate of $17M selling products for use
in process control and telecommunications applications. Rick has experience
in both designing products and managing teams of developers. He has personally
overseen the development of a real-time operating system and a database
server. More recently, Rick has worked with Microsoft's new .Net technology
and developed software using the C# language.
Brian Balcom - Customer Ombudsman
Brian is a customer of ViaPoint Software and represents
the customer viewpoint to the management team. As a General Manager at
Cummins Northeast Energy Systems, Brian understands the needs of our typical
user and those of management. Prior to joining Cummins, Brian was Director
of Account Management for NSTAR Electric and Gas where he was responsible
for all new Electric and Gas sales, and where he spearheaded the implementation
of one of the first successful Customer Relationship Management systems
in 1994.
